A Smart™ Salary Packaging and Meal Entertainment Mastercard is a convenient way to pay for meal entertainment and/or everyday living expenses. The same card can be used for both benefits.¹ Employees pay for things as they go, using pre-loaded funds from their pre-tax income.
Employees decide the amount they want added to their card each pay, and this is deducted from their pre-tax salary. Once the funds are added they can use their card wherever Mastercard is accepted.
If they package both everyday living expenses and meal entertainment, funds are automatically deducted from the relevant account, triggered by merchant and transaction details.
The card works with devices people use every day. Employees can add it to Google Pay or Apple Pay for simple and secure payments in stores, in selected apps and on participating websites.
For Android phone users it's simple to add the card to Google Pay. Once the set-up process is complete, they can use Google Pay where contactless payments are available, or where the Google Pay logo appears online.
Employees with an iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac can use Apple pay to make payments with the salary packaging card – in stores, on participating websites, and in selected apps.2
A Smart Salary Packaging and Meal Entertainment Mastercard is provided to all employees who salary package meal entertainment and/or everyday living expenses. It is not available for any other use.
