The Electric Car Discount Policy
Introduced by the Federal Government, the Electric Car Discount Policy has made eligible electric vehicles (EVs)^ considerably cheaper when purchased through a novated lease.
Eligible Genesis electric vehicles (EVs)^ qualify for the Electric Car Discount. They are now exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) – potentially saving you money.

^GST and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) are not payable on the purchase price of eligible EVs finance through a novated lease. Other taxes may still apply. ‘Eligible EV’ refers to electric vehicles purchased under a novated lease and eligible for the FBT exemption under the Federal Government’s Electric Car Discount Policy. FBT exemption is available for eligible electric or hydrogen cell vehicles purchased through a novated lease up to the Luxury Car Tax limit ($91,661 in FY 2026-27).
