The Geely EX5 is an electric vehicle built for comfort, technology and efficiency.

What should you know about the Geely EX5?

Australian pricing for the new Geely EX5 was announced earlier in 2025, with the entry-level Complete priced from $40,990 plus on-road costs, or from $42,707.45 drive away – undercutting its main rivals like the Leapmotor C10, Kia EV5 and Tesla Model Y. The higher spec Inspire model is priced at $44,990 (from $46,707.45 drive away).

Sitting on Geely’s new ‘GEA’ platform, the EX5 is powered by a front-mounted 160kW/320Nm electric motor that draws power from a 60.22kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack.

What’s the electric driving range?

The claimed WLTP-rated driving range is 430km for the Complete and 410km for the up-spec Inspire model.

Geely claims that the EX5 will be able to travel up to 430km of range on the WLTP cycle, and charge as high as 100kW on a DC fast charger for a 30 to 80 percent charge in 20 minutes, or 11kW using an AC charger. The EX5 also features vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle charging at up to 3.3kW and 6kW respectively.

The EX5 measures 4,615mm long, 1,901mm wide, 1,670mm tall and rides on a 2,750mm-long wheelbase, making it identical in length to Kia’s EV5. The claimed bootspace is 410 litres with the seats up and 1,877L with the rear seats folded.

What’s the interior like?

For the price, the standard features list on the Geely EX5 is impressive. Keyless entry and push button start, leather steering wheel with ‘anti-virus technology’, synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats and automatic climate control with rear air vents.

In the front, the driver’s seat can be electronically adjusted six ways and the front passenger’s seat, four ways.

Centre of the dash is a 15.4-inch touchscreen with inbuilt connected services, while the drive benefits from a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, 15W wireless phone charger, FM/DAB+ digital radio, satellite navigation with live traffic and four USB ports are also part of the offering.

The higher spec Inspire model adds ventilated and massaging front seats with driver’s memory, front passenger electric foot rest, 256-colour ambient lighting, 13.4-inch head-up display and 1,000-watt 16-speaker sound system.

The rear cabin features door pockets, a central armrest with cupholders, air vents on the pillars, two USB-C ports in the back of the front seats, a massive sliding tub that’s climate controlled in the GT-Line and map pockets on the back of the seats.

The rear seats also recline and there are three top tether points and two ISOFIX points for child seats.

The boot of the EV5 measures 513 litres with the seats up, and 1,714L with the rear seats folded.

While those aren’t class-leading numbers, the EV5’s clever features impress with a large under-floor section, ample storage on each side, grooves to store the boot floor higher and even removable hooks that can be positioned at various points throughout the boot. The seats fold completely flat, and there’s also a 67L front boot as well.
