Regular servicing can maintain your vehicle’s performance, make it more fuel-efficient and help prevent future issues. To help make servicing a breeze, Smart offers the Vehicle Maintenance Program (VMP).
With the VMP, all proposed work is approved by Smart before it commences. Our maintenance controllers are qualified mechanics, so they can help keep costs down by ensuring you’re only getting service and repairs if they’re really needed.
You also get access to our fleet pricing on service and repairs. Plus, expenses are billed directly to your Smart account.
Log in to your Smart account to check that the Vehicle Maintenance Program is added to your lease~. To use the VMP, simply book your car in at one of our preferred suppliers, which you can find here.
When you take your car in, tell the provider that your car is managed by Smart and to obtain authorisation online before commencing the work.
Running cost budgets are a component of your lease, covering fuel, registration, insurance, maintenance, and tyres each pay period.
Overspending on any of these can cause issues unless you adjust your budget. We recommend a quick review to ensure you’re on track.
Log into your online account, go to your vehicle package, and select the ‘Manage Budgets’ section. Here, you can monitor your spending and amend budgets as needed.
This is also useful if you anticipate driving more soon, allowing you to adjust your budget for the extra kilometres.
With the current cost of living, it’s crucial to maximise savings by salary packaging all eligible expenses.
Generally, the types of expenses which can be claimed are those incurred in relation to the upkeep of your vehicle. For instance, professional car washes are able to be claimed. Have you incurred any of these eligible expenses and not claimed yet?
Keep your invoices and make a claim through your online account.
It’s essential to have support in case of a breakdown or other issues. If you don’t have nationwide, 24/7 roadside assistance, you can add it to your salary package for a small fee.
Our Roadside Assistance, provided by NRMA, covers battery issues, flat tyres, engine trouble, locked keys, emergency fuel and can help if you’re having trouble with a trailer (up to 5.7m long).
It also includes free towing up to 20kms in metro areas, 60kms in regional areas, and 160kms in remote locations.
